XPost: alt.global-warming              The NOAA has updated its NOAATEMP data series to the end of 2020.              Dec 2020 saw several regions more than 1C over the baseline ~1980s avg       temps. The NH Temp Ocean scored +.89C, a new record for the month.       The NoPo Ocean was a sizzling 2.14C above normal but with all the       recent competition that only ranked 3rd-warmest for the region in Dec.              At the other end of the scale the SoPo was -.35C below the baseline       which ranked almost "average" for the last 141y.              For the year the GL avg temp was .67C above the baseline, ranking       2nd-warmest year behind 2016. There were a slew of new records across       the regions with 1/3 scoring a #1. The NoPo was the standout region       with NoPo land averaging 2.41C above normal -- the warmest for the       region since at least 1880.              The NH averaged over 1C and scored another #1. NH land averaged almost       +1C and NH ocean almost +.8C above normal -- both new records.              The SH averaged +.3C and ranked 5th warmest in the past 141 y.              The detailed region-by-region numbers for Dec and the year are       as follows:                     DECEMBER:              Region Rank Anom        (/141) (degC rel 1970/99 baseline)       NTempocean 1 0.891721       Trpcsland 2 1.088881       NoPoocean 3 2.143974       NHemocean 4 0.700988       NHem 5 0.803859       Glland 8 0.840584       Gl 8 0.451476       Glocean 8 0.306824       NoPo 9 1.971697       NHemland 9 0.972005       NTemp 10 0.676975       Shemland 11 0.505437       Trpcs 13 0.365091       STemp 18 0.024067       NoPoland 19 1.842178       STempocean 20 0.010151       NTempland 21 0.434202       Shem 21 0.080473       STempland 22 0.263781       Trpcsocean 23 0.145137       Shemocean 26 0.001501       SoPoland 60 -0.251957       SoPoocean 73 -0.372008       SoPo 74 -0.353211                     ANNUAL              Region Rank Anom        (/141) (degC rel 1970/99 baseline)       NoPoland 1 2.41086       NTempland 1 1.41616       NHemland 1 1.39495       Glland 1 1.2414       NTemp 1 1.19186       NHem 1 1.02076       NTempocean 1 0.992329       NHemocean 1 0.791507       NoPo 2 2.01224       Shemland 2 0.855167       Gl 2 0.672329       Trpcsland 3 0.934342       Glocean 3 0.460778       Trpcs 4 0.559355       Trpcsocean 4 0.445397       NoPoocean 5 1.46774       Shem 5 0.304057       STempland 6 0.534714       Shemocean 6 0.199504       STemp 7 0.115123       STempocean 8 0.0904887       SoPoland 11 0.533456       SoPo 19 0.0314707       SoPoocean 36 -0.11063              --       Stonekettle @Stonekettle 14 Dec 2020 23:34Z       In the coming weeks, you should expect a sudden surge in Republicans       who "never liked Trump anyway," and are now ready to denounce his       policies (which they totally never agreed with) and his behavior (which       they were always appalled by) and who just want to help heal the       nation.              [Radioactive Man!]       Trump impeachment ignites GOP civil war       The Hill/Opinion, 14 Jan 2021 15:03Z       ... the most divisive president in American history, has now ignited a civil       war within the Republican Party.
