   WA has seen a 50% rise in emergency admissions for sunburn.  Normally   
   it sees about 200 cases a year where sunburn is so bad it required   
   significant emergency treatment. But in the past 12m more then 320   
   cases turned up, many of them badly burned children. Severe sunburn is   
   thought to be a major precursor of skin cancer. About 14k Australians   
   a year are diagnosed with melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin   
   cancer. Survival rates are high -- about 90% -- but with 1429 deaths   
   in 2018 it was the 10th most common cause of death.
