The NOAA has just update the MEI mutivariate ENSO series through the
   end of Feb 2021.

   The recent data looks like:

DJ JF FM MA AM MJ JJ JA AS SO ON ND
   2020 0.29 0.30 0.15 -0.11 -0.24 -0.73 -1.00 -0.99 -1.19 -1.20 -1.15 -1.16
   2021 -1.20 -0.95

A LMS projects an MEI value for FM 2021 at -.95+-.2. 3 consec
"bi-months" less than approx -.5 represent a La Nina although different
met agencies apply different criteria. But the La Nina continues and
is likely to affect the up-coming US hurricane season.

Meanwhile, NOAA, the NHC and WMO are considering moving the official
start of hurricane season up a couple weeks to reflect the growing
   effects of AGW.
