|    [Web Feed] UCSB or Duke MEM program    |

From: feed.supplier@somewhere.cbr              Hello! I am somewhat new to using Reddit and I figured this was a good a place       as any to ask for some graduate school advice. I am currently trying to figure       out where I’d like to go to school—UCSB’s Bren School of Environmental       Science and        Management or Duke’s Nicholas School of the Environment. Right now the       financial situation for both is pretty similar, however UCSB has the       opportunity to be cheaper based on GSA positions covering tuition, but they       obviously are competitive and not        guaranteed. I think for me it comes down to which school will give me a better       opportunity for a great job after graduating and I tend to lean towards Duke       in that respect because it is so well known. However, I do know that UCSB and       Bren in particular        are fairly well-known in the environmental field. I suppose I’m just asking       you environmental professionals out there how much of a difference it would       make to have an applicant for a position from a school like UCSB vs a school       like Duke? Does the        name “Duke” carry the strength in reputation that I think it does?              Both schools have faculty with research that I am interested in and a fairly       interdisciplinary program.                     --       Generated automatically from a Web feed              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
