Lithuania 16 February       https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_Day_(Estonia)              27 February - Independence Day (Dominican Republic)        José Núñez de Cáceres declared the independence of Santo Domingo        (from the Spanish crown) as Spanish Haiti, on November 30, 1821.        This is known as the "Ephemeral Independence".        Two months later it was occupied and annexed by Haiti.        On 27 February 1844, members of a secret society called La         Trinitaria declared independence from Haiti.        That's what's commemorated. But peace and happy-ending did not        ensue.
