   He may have said so in jest, to Ehrenfest perhaps,   
   but if so, there doesn't seem to be a record of it.   
      
   It is popular, because some people try to paint Eninstein   
   as a (naive) falsificationist, which he definitely was not.   
      
   It should be taken in the spirit of Ockham, I think.   
   The case becomes weaker rather than stronger   
   when too many arguments for it are advanced,
