CERN people were remarkably good at electronics when I ran into them
when I was working in the UK and the Netherlands. I've published about
ten rude comments in the Review of Scientific Instruments over the years
   - the first was back in 1972 - and I don't have high expectations of the
electronics skills of most physicists, but people with links to CERN
   were pretty impressive.
