   Tacitus has a whole book about Germans! He wrote it around the time of   
   birth of Jesus.   
      
   He described their physical features (signature cro-magnons) and how   
   they lived and their cities looked like, and their history. Already 2000   
   years back Germans had "history".

   By the way, Tacitus even noticed that "those people all think the same   
   way".. Hehe :) It was one of the first observations that he had made   
   about them. It had hit him too! 2000 years ago.
