   Coppelius created lifelike AI androids without emotion, which he didn't know   
   how to program, so he built a machine that extracts it from humans, because   
   the perfect woman he had created didn't love and obey him.   
      
   "Frankenstein" explored other consequences of the same theme, inspired by   
   Volta's discovery that electricity could activate dead muscles. The monster   
   had no soul and no conscience.   
      
   Today we willingly give AI as much of our mental abilities as we can.
