   At a NH town meeting while we were debating a proposed amendment to a budget   
   item a recent immigrant from Mass got up to tell us we should stop and just   
   let the professional politicians make these decisions. Others have given   
   similar indications that they have no aptitude for democracy, difficult   
   choices confuse them and they need an authority figure to tell them what to   
   do and believe, a secular Pope. That's why a far left government is so often   
   a dictatorship.   
      
   They shop in southern NH to avoid their state's sales tax. During Covid we   
   saw that the overwhelmingly Democratic MA residents were mostly unmasked,   
   though mask resistance was being loudly blamed on Republicans. That was   
   particularly obvious at big box building supply stores where I watched   
   mostly maskless drivers loading trucks with MA plates.
