So your argument is that a 100 million megaton impact killed
   the dinosaurs.

Listen, and take notes: Mammals survived. Mammals. The problem
wasn't heat. In fact, it would have caused a "Nuclear Winter"
on an off-the-charts scale. The dinosaurs that weren't killed
by the impact starved to death. Period.

A similar thing happened to archaic humans albeit on a smaller
scale, when Toba exploded. You had fire everywhere, lava but
what devastated humans was the global winters followed by a
   thousand-years-plus cold period.

Yes it took more than a thousand years for the climate to
recover from the eruption of Toba...

And another similar thing happened more than a thousand
years AFTER the last glacial period (what you call an ice
age) ended: The Younger Dryas Cooling.

Again, more than a thousand years before the earth clawed
   back the temperatures lost...

NOAA insists that the Younger Dryas cooling was caused by
some lame "Ice Dam" theory. Everyone else says it was an
   impact.
