[continued from previous message]              any land given to them is used as terrorism infrastructure for a larger       war. Yet geniuses are confused why Israel is reluctant to do the same       with the West Bank.              Falous 7h       What part? Oh the part that isn't seeing through Nationalist -Partisan       crazed glasses.       Given Gaza is like Third Reich giving Sovs eastern Poland. Occupation is       not gifting.       And given Israel actively exploited Hamas to weaken Fatah the idea that       Gaza is the proof that West Bank needs to be occupied is.... amusing to       me as usual rabid partisans spin on Their Team action.              This in no way however to anticipate the frothing at mouth follow-up       that is likely implies on my part that I see Fateh or PA as great       parties (or even particularly competent) but engaging in       self-justification on W. Bank is only convincing to your Pre Sold       partisan nationalist views.              Frankly if everyone on both sides got pushed into boats and sailed off       to Madagascar to fight idiot proxy war there I'd be as happy.              Arrr Bee 7h       Ridiculous metaphor. Israel gave the Gaza Strip to the Palestinian       Authority in 2005. It's the Hamas proxy army of the Islamic Republic of       Iran that carried out a coup in 2007, murdering the Palestinian       government and security officials, and turning it into a forward       operating base for Iranian terrorism adjacent to sovereign Israel.              There is no Palestinian leadership that isn't genocidal. You have the       Soviet-style kleptocratic Fatah in the West Bank, and the ISIS style       kleptocratic Hamas in Gaza, and zero Palestinian leadership that isn't       sociopathic, genocide happy ethnic cleansers.              Otherwise, if your Pals cared for a state they would have had one       confirmed by the UN on October 29 1947, just like Israel. But no, their       pathetic Arab Supremacism is driving them through 105 years of       attempting a genocide and ethnic cleansing of Jews from Israel. You're       invited to fuck off, personally.              George Carty 3hEdited              Israelis and Palestinians are like matter and antimatter, both created       in the exact same historical moment in 1948. You're likely correct that       it is impossible for Israel to make peace with Palestinians qua       Palestinians, as the entire Palestinian national identity is based on       Israel's negation.              Germany could be de-Nazified because the Nazis did not create Germany in       the first place: it had already existed as a unified nation-state for 62       years when the Nazis took it over, and the Germans had been recognized       as a people for centuries, since the Diet of Cologne in 1512 declared       the "Heiliges Römisches Reich Deutscher Nation".              By contrast the the Palestinian national identity was born out of       anti-Zionist struggle, beginning with the 1920 Nabi Musa riots when the       rioters declared that "Faisal is our King", showing that at this point       they still identified as Syrians. If the Zionist movement had never       existed then there would be no "Palestinians" either: the Arab       population of Jerusalem, Nablus and Gaza would likely still call       themselves Syrians (or perhaps Jordanians, if a Sykes-Picot type       partition had still taken place).              A minor correction about Hamas: while Hezbollah and the Houthis have       always been proxy armies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hamas was not,       at least not in 2007 (and it later supported the rebels in the Syrian       Civil War, while Iran and Hezbollah of course supported Assad). It was       only in the late-2010s that Hamas turned to Iran out of desperation,       after being abandoned by most of its Arab allies.              Like       Reply              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
