   Say, Headley,

I know this is a non-sequiter, but I've been wanting to ask: do you
guys still support the second amendment? (The one to the Constitution,
   I mean.)

Now, I have always been outspoken that I see 2A as a compromise by
which we could get the 1787 Constitution accepted without codifying
slavery into it in any meaningful way. You and your cohort, OTOH,
have loudly stated that it exists to allow citizens to respond to a
   government invasion with deadly force.

So, here we have a person who was shot, and the only evident reason is
that: "He was armed and had two magazines." Now, don't get me wrong,
I think carrying a gun *should* be a serious crime, but it simply
isn't. So what, he had a gun? We all have guns. It's 2026 and we're
   all violent sociopaths.

While I oppose gun carry, if I were the person under assault by the
ICE agents (and had a gun), I would have gone for it immediately...
it's a "target rich environment"; all I gotta do is get a round off
and I've got a good chance of hitting someone. I'm aware I'd be dead,
but ICE has a history of shooting people anyway and I might get lucky.

So, here is my question: do you still believe that gun carry is a
human right? Do you still believe that a person has an indelible
right to defend him or herself if attacked... even when the attackers
   are federal agents?

It's an honest question. I know, we usually don't take questions on
Usenet, but, if you'll address this one, I will reciprocate. It's not
an easy question, because I think you're in a bit of a dilema here.
