   Let Another Nation Declare War for U.S. -- Seriously?   
      
   Three days after 9/11, Congress gave presidents the power to launch   
   wars. Now a resolution in the Senate would effectively allow a foreign   
   nation to launch the United States into a war.   
      
   Following a long list of falsehoods and half-truths about Iran, S.R.65   
   "urges that, if the Government of Israel is compelled to take military   
   action in self-defense, the United States Government should stand with   
   Israel and provide diplomatic, military, and economic support."   
      
   This is "self-defense" in the sense that the U.S. attack on Iraq was   
   "self-defense."   
      
   Tell the Senate to obey the U.S. Constitution by sending this message   
   to your senators.   
      
     Subject: No to U.S. War Powers for Israel   
      
     Your Letter:   
      
     The Constitution gives the power to declare war to Congress.   
     Allowing presidents to use that power is bad enough. Handing that   
     power to another nation on our behalf is shameful. Oppose S.R.65.
