   Prove it! Putin never said "they were", referring to the same group.   
   I believe Putin later said "there were" Russian troops, which is not   
   surprising because of the 20,000 troops that Russia are allowed to   
   deploy in Crimea at any time.   
      
   There is a huge difference between "there were" and "they were"!
