   Yes, that is the hard math in any war. So, the real solution to this   
   problem is for Washington to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan and   
   return Bagram and other military bases to the Afghan people, whatever   
   their political affiliations are.   
      
   We, the American people, ought to open up our eyes, ask why our policy   
   makers in Washington must garrison the planet, and insist, instead,   
   that they bring our troops home for good.
