     France has a history of colonialism in Africa.

   countries to Europe, though not as close as Morocco to Spain)   
      
     Ukraine is only the latest example of the West's regime change   
     targets, Libya was a recent one before Ukraine.

     France sent troops over to Mali to fight the camel riding desert   
     guys who were guests of Gaddafi's Libya but who was made homeless   
     after NATO bombed Libya to oblivion.

     The U.S. spent over 6 billions USD to engineer the regime change in   
     Kiev in 2014, which was the second time of this kind in Ukraine in   
     ten years.

     their Russian backers.  Canada has ten million less people than the   
     very impoverished Ukraine, which has a population of 44 millions.

     Did Russia ever try to pull Canada out of the U.S./NATO influence   
     like the U.S. pulled Ukraine out of Russia's influence?   
      
     Not that I know of.  Something is quite illogically asymmetric here   
     in the realm of geopolitics.

     Malaysia lost a jet in Ukraine   
      
     Poor Malaysia experienced one tragedy after another even though it   
     has always tried to be friendly, or at least business-like, to other   
     countries.  And it showed that by recognizing that it was too early   
     to blame the rebels in Ukraine's east for the MH17 tragedy, and thus   
     paid the representatives of Donetsk People's Republic with the same   
     courtesy it paid their counterparts from Kiev.   
      
   12,975 km Distance from Australia to Ukraine   
      
     Aussie PM was talking about sending soldiers to safeguard MH17   
     investigation... an overzealous and impractical idea obviously.   
      
     The Aussies are even farther away from Ukraine.   
      
   So, from a geopolitical point of view, the tragedy that is going on in   
   Ukraine currently is as noteworthy as the tragedy that continues to   
   afflict Libya even today.  It's descent to hell began with NATO-backed   
   violent regime change in that country in 2011.   
      
   Therefore, we are living in a small world: something that happens at   
   point A can be a valuable lesson for folks at point B, no matter where   
   A and B are.
