XPost: soc.culture.china, soc.culture.usa, soc.culture.latin-america       XPost: soc.culture.iraq, soc.culture.pakistan, soc.culture.african       XPost: rec.sport.tennis       From: acoustic@panix.com              Jeb Bush presented himself to be just the kind of a politician who is       all talk now but will walk you down the path of perdition later, just       like his brother George W. did to the country.              Jeb said: "My belief is that if we create the right climate, America       is going to rise up and lead the world for the next generation of       time, . . ."              The message is so broad and general that one can't possibly find flaw       in it. But Jeb won't be the one to create that right climate because       he has just said this very summer that he would put American spotters       on Iraqi ground to help with American-led air strikes (against IS or       whoever that happens to be around that rubs Jeb the wrong way) and Jeb       made clear to us that while George W.'s Iraq war was not perfect, it       was a good deal because it got rid of Saddam. Let's see why such       thinking for the next U.S. president would inhibit the creation of a       right climate for America to rise up in, much less lead the world.              It does not matter whose side you're on. For as long as resentment       toward the United States continues, there will be people who will be       on the other side, fighting us or our surrogates/puppets. We should       recognize that the war against IS is a controversy in the very sense       of the word because we argue that we have the "duty"/"responsibility"       to defeat/destroy IS warriors because they are the bad guys but IS       supporters argue strongly that theirs is the only way to get back the       life-style they once enjoyed before George W. rudely invaded and then       destroyed Iraq under false pretenses. In other words, whenever there       is a bone of contention, there exists a controversy. When we defeated       Japan, Nazi Germany and their fascist cohorts, we made sure that the       vanquished recognized their guilt. Controversy did not arise at the       end of WWII because the conditions for controversy did not or were not       allowed to exist.              What happened to George W.'s Iraq war? He was in no position to shame       the Iraqis to feel guilty about his war. Clearly there are plenty of       grudges and no American president is going to be able to "create the       right climate" such that there won't be hostile activities to bring       down our stooges in that country. There are plenty of Arabs and       Muslims from the Middle East and even from Europe who are on the other       side of the controversy. So, America cannot have a chance to become       great again unless we apologize as Japan and Germany apologized for       their wicked deeds in a prior war. But if we cannot have a president       who is able to apologize to the Iraqi people for the destruction the       Iraq war caused, at least we should not choose as president one who,       12 years after the war started under false pretenses, still thinks of       the sinister act as a good deal and is in fact a brother of the war       criminal, the one who was responsible for bringing on the untold       suffering to the Iraqi people and getting away with it.              A resolute no for "Jeb Bush for president".              lo yeeOn              --------              http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/09/03/j       b-bush-went-hard-after-trump-in-new-hampshire-then-he-took-some-       eat-on-immigration/              "My belief is that if we create the right climate, America is going to       rise up and lead the world for the next generation of time," said       Bush. "Donald Trump's view is that the end is near."              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
