   Occam's razor tells me that they were/are not gentle souls.  Yes, some   
   people do horrible things in extreme situations... they were not in such   
   a situation.  Combined with the fact the brothers are suspected of   
   having been involved in multiple drug-related deaths (with plenty of   
   circumstantial evidence) pretty much seals it for me.  Doesn't fit your   
   agenda though, so no surprise you don't believe it.
