So, you follow up on your own post? Tsk, tsk.

As for your curiosity of a hypothetical situation, you needn't have
   any.

We all know about the Chinese dissidents. Liu Xiaobo, blind Chen, and
others. While they have been detained and sentenced for some crimes,
they were not tortured, unlike the case of Assange, and especially
   unlike the case of Manning.

And while Liu was clearly extravagantly funded by the NED as he called
for a 300 year-tough-love for his 1.2 billion compatriots, poor
Manning was never funded by anybody and acted purely out of disgust or
revulsion to the brutality and inhumanity of the kind of things our
military was directed to do in poor defenseless countries like Iraq
and Afghanistan under the ironically named banner of _Operation
   Enduring Freedom_.

And Assange was only crowd-funded by the people - the same people
who've been sick and tired of the shenanigans the neocons have carried
out at the expense of Muslim lives in poor defenseless countries.

Of course, if Manning were jailed in China, he would get no worse
treatment than Liu - who gets to eat lunch with his wife on a regular
   basis.

Liu, to many Chinese is a traitor, and his work against China was much
more pre-meditated, much more compromised, and much more
foreign-funded than anything they have ever alleged against Manning or
Assange, but he gets off easy and even won over a million dollar of
Nobel prize money for his treacherous activities.

And don't forget that "dissident" Liu even wrote an op-ed piece in
2014, denouncing John Kerry while praising G W Bush and advocating for
the latter's re-election for what he did in Iraq. (Why on earth did
a _Chinese_ "dissident" have such an opinion about an _American_
election? Could it have been that all recipients of NED funding
needed to show support for their boss W?)

You may not know about Liu; but that article mentioned shows that Liu
is a real neocon or otherwise a sycophant of them because he believes
that the lives that were sacrificed in Iraq were a necessary price for
"freedom". You just have to wonder if Liu is willing to give up his
   own life for anybody's freedom?
