That would mean that working on       > > the       > > line at GM is "demeaning"... too bad; those guys make a fortune. Lots       of       > > jobs are "demeaning." What you're saying is just a cop-out, an excuse       to       > > justify shipping jobs overseas. And it's not right when there are       > > thousands       > > of unemployed workers in the United States who would absolutely *kill*       to       > > have a job.       >       > Why so emotional?       >       > The future jobs are in services (brain as opposed to body), so the sooner       > people reeducate their manual labour dumb asses the better for US economy.       >              I'm not emotional about it, but if you're saying that all jobs in the       manufacturing sector of the American economy should be outsourced to other       countries (as it appears you are), then you're certainly out of step with       Monsieur Bush, who frantically denied during the presidential debates that       he would contemplate any such thing. It's absolutely ridiculous to think       that any nation is going to eliminate manufacturing (i.e., assembly) jobs.       Get rid of autobuilding plants? Get rid of other manufacturing plants? Get       rid of construction workers (another manual labor position)? Ain't gonna       happen. I'm just point that out.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
