   The real reason for the Euros to be spending billions on Galileo has nothing   
   to do with defense. Please realize that Euros are loath to spend anything on   
   defense. No, the real reason for Galileo is money. The Euros realized the   
   true market potential of GPS services and were worried that the USA would   
   run away with all that cash and create yet another Microsoft type economic   
   juggernaut while the Euros were all back at home wankering away.   
      
   What's funny though is how the Euro politicians are lying to the Euros about   
   Galileo's true cost. Galileo will cost many more billions than what they   
   nainely being led to believe...and US is already way ahead on providing   
   useable GPS services.   
      
   Russian Glasnost system is useless. Russians should stick to digging holes   
   in the ground and pumping oil.
