   While I agree that Airbus makes a good airplane, the slide of the dollar,   
   over 30%, should have eaten into Airbus's profit margin on whatever plane   
   the make and sell.   
      
   In fact, for the first time in along time, France ran a trade deficit in   
   2004. That is worrisome.   
      
   On paper the 350 looks better than the 7E7.  Moreover, Airbus has   
   configurated their planes rationally so that a pilot trained   
   to fly one model and be trained easily to fly an upgraded model.   
   I think that have had a slight advantage in economy.  Indeed,   
   the engine for the 7E7 as not yet been selected according to   
   news reports.   
      
   So the big problem is the price. Airbus lost 30-40% in pricing competition   
   over the last couple of years.
