XPost: soc.culture.russian, soc.culture.french, soc.culture.europe       XPost: soc.culture.german       From: AHigherCalling@SemperFi.org              What is the best way to die? Depending on the method, what are your chances       of being saved?              If you live in Darfur Sudan, you may starve to death. It will be a slow       agonizing process. In all likelihood, no one will come to save you. People       like Kofi Annan will talk about helping you while having a nice dinner in a       fancy Manhattan restaurant. Where TF is Bono? He dedicated the rest of his       life to fighting poverty but getting ready for the new tour comes first.              If you live in Sri Lanka, you die out in the open ocean after being swept       out to sea by a giant tsunami wave. The calamity does not last long though.       If you survive the wave, people from all over the world will trip over each       other in the rush to help you.              It is good that people in Darfur do not have televisions. Right now they       would be feeling their lives are not worth very much. 75,000 have died so       far in Sudan and yet very few help. 33,000 died in the tsunami, spead across       thousands of miles and many countries. How many aircraft will expend       thousands of gallons of fuel to fly many tons of supplies all over the       Indian ocean? At the same time, wouldn't it be nice to get one truckload of       food into Sudan?              If you must live through a catastrophy, I suggest you pick a tsunami over       starvation. It is a much more comfortable way to die. Kofi will be by your       side too!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
