Who said anything about French-Greek alliances? This isn't about surrending
Hellenic sovereignty to France (as some "super-Greek" once advocated on
soc.culture.greek). The Franks, Latins, and other Western Europeans cannot
be trusted as history has been continually showing since the Middle Ages.

Rather, the point of this news article lies is the sound advice Le Pen
offered the Greek people in regards to Greece's future and the dire
consequences of Turkey joining the European Union. Normally, one would have
expected the Greek people to have long realized the wisdom in his words, and
thus reducing them to redundancy. Unfortunately, that's not the case.

Greeks still seem to be in a stupor in regards to what calamity lies ahead
if some sensible measures are not immediately taken. But sadly, left-wing
partisanship coupled with mass apathy has stunted and retarded Greek
judgement with the result that instead of soberly considering the views of
nationally-minded Hellenes (as well as prominent philhellene politicians)
the unwashed masses are entirely dismissing the coming castrophe (instead
concerning themselves with drinking frappes, attending night clubs, and
fornicating with strangers than with troubling themselves with such
"negative thoughts") or are too busy denouncing perceived "racists" and
"Nazis" to even consider that the other side may have valid concerns.

I only wonder: when thousands (millions?) of Turks swarm into Greece, upset
the demographic balance, destroy the homogeneous nature of the state,
deprive ethnic Greeks of thousands upon thousands of jobs, cause a skyrocket
in the crime rate, begin demanding minority rights that supersede those of
the ethnic Greek majority, and start calling for western Thrace's autonomy
if anyone will remember all the warnings that Greek nationalists had been
   voicing for years?
