|    REQ: French maxim or aphorism appropriat    |

From: e_quip@hotmail.com              I was just trying to think of people I know who can speak French fluently       when this newsgroup came to mind. A friend's daughter is getting married on       Friday and my wife would like to embroider something for her and her fiancé.       She and her fiance majored in French and pol. sci, in college and she is       hoping to work in the American embassy in France or something else that       would require an English/French bilinguallity.              I am wonder if you can think of any French expressions that would be       appropriate for a young couple getting married, the sort of thing you might       find at a crafts festival or, in America, on a refrigerator magnet;       something they can hang on the wall in any room or hallway. Her favorite       colors are shades of green, so if the expression may look nice in green(s)       that would be even better.              Thanks.              Bob              P.S. Also please tell me approximately what the expressions mean in English       so my wife has half a clue for what she'll be sewing.              P.S.S. I cross-posted this earlier to soc.culture.french, but since the       topics there seem very political I don't know if I will get an answer. The       messages here seem less political so that is why I decided to post here as       well.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
