   Jobs for life with no incentive to work?   
      
   The last country that was run like that went out of business in 1989.   
      
   Poor Gerry Schroeder learned the hard way there's a price to pay when you   
   ask Euros to work. Now poor ol' Duhhh Villepin is discovering the same.   
      
   So what should a politician do? Should he just go along with the voters and   
   pretend everything will be OK and get re-elected? Or should he do what is   
   right for the country even though it could cost him his job?   
      
   Letting the maggots feed on France's economic carcass and letting the   
   protesters rot along with it would certainly be the easy way out. Drop the   
   law and everybody is happy...for now.   
      
   Perhaps the question is "how long can the French sleep-walk through time   
   before the whole thing crashes in on them? They should stop worrying about   
   the Muslims. The Chinese and Indians are gonna do the real butt-kicking on   
   the continent.
