   France is more "Soviet" than the Soviet Union was.   
      
   Everything is government subsidized...farmers, technology...even their   
   movies are paid for by the government. They can't compete in the global   
   marketplace without crutches. Take from the rich and give to the   
   poor...basically it's communism, the lazy man's dream. America is all about   
   if you work hard, you can achieve your dream. That's why so many European   
   scientists move to the USA. The   
   sit-around-and-do-nothing-and-get-paid-for-it mentality is European, it's   
   not a part of American culture, by and large. The closest thing would be the   
   American-born blacks that inherit crappy work ethic from their parents.   
      
   In the press, much lip-service has been paid to France's startling   
   announcement of only 9.5% unemployment. In the USA, 9.5% would never be   
   tolerated. What the press fails to mention is that the low unemployment is a   
   sham. The reduced figure is due to the French gov paying for thousands of   
   apprenticeships. That takes the people off the dole but there are no jobs   
   for these new "experts" once they graduate. It's all smoke and mirrors.   
      
   What America already went through back in the 1980's, Europe must learn now,   
   kicking and screaming but face it they must, and will. It's not their   
   choice.   
      
   It is ironic though that the French are always so worried about American   
   culture destroying their own, but it is their own citizens, the Muslims,   
   that are eating away at French culture and society, from the inside out.
