   Every year for the last twenty or more years, more boy babies than girl   
   babies have been born in France.   
      
   That reverses a trend of more girl babies lasting from the immediate   
   post-war years until 1985.   
      
   Can more boy babies since 1985 be explained by the presence in France of   
   more "patriarchal" family units since the eighties?   
      
   Can more girl babies from 1947 to 1985 be explained by events between 1914   
   and 1945?   
      
   Here are the proportions for the last eight years:
