I also carry one totally legally, I have in total three permits some very
hard to get.
I have one to carry a side arm under my jacket or a long shirt, it must
concele the weapon as only police and armed guards (such as with armored
cars) can carry them in plain site in this state. I think Texas and Florida
allow for in plane site holstering of a hand gun though.
I have an interstate transport permit. It allows be to keep a side arm with
me when crossing state lines (this is issued by the Federal ............
... Investigation. Takes the most thorough of background checks. The
only 2 places in the USA I can not cross the state line at and go through
with that is New York City (that is 6 of the 8 routes out of NJ to NY State.
And the District of Columbia (DC).
The third permit handles the New York City problem. It is a New York City
Carrying permit (which also covers the rest of the state because the NYC
permit is actually an attached document to the NY State permit.
It is considered the hardest one to get. But like I said here many times it
is who not how many people you have as friends (or relatives)
In fact the way I got the NY permits (state and city combined) is Relation
by marriages in the family.
My Mother had a cousin in the plating business (with militarty contracts as
well as many other customers). His wife's Cousin was a Lawyer. (I Never
used him as such) His specialties was Estates and Labor, he was the lawyer
for the Brewer's Union (Part of Jimmy Hoffa's Teamsters Union) and handled
he trust fund setups for someone that was with the NYC Police Dept. LOL, I
laugh because that man was the Cheif Of Police.
The place I worked at in the City at the time was on West 31st Street. That
place had the entire 3rd floor. Above us was a big named commercial
photographer, they were were held up at gun point while shooting some stuff
on a set they had put up. The criminals made them lay down on the floor all
next to each other, covered them with a tarp and fired several shots into
the tarp. The floors were not concrete but wood, the ceilings were tin art
deco tiles. I was working late myself and two bullets just missed me coming
through from above. That Lawyer relation actually just had me sign the
application, he filled it in and was seeing that client the next day. Some
Sgt. in the local precinct there, a detective with local Police where I
lived, and 2 men in suites with Federal IDs all interviews with me and
neighbors.. Yet I passed and got it. GET THAT
