   Hi,   
      
   Doing a little research for newly named son Steffen.  Baby books say this is   
   English and Scandanavian but it seems to appear mostly in German and   
   Austrian pages.  Is this a popular spelling?  We've been told no but that   
   Stefan is quite common.  I'm sure in a few years he'll want to know where   
   this name came from as it is not very common here in the states (Steven most   
   common).
