   About Metformin and COVID 19..   
      
   People who suffer from diabetes are at greater risk of death from diseases   
   like COVID 19. Researchers found that those taking metformin (a cheap and   
   popular anti-diabetes drug) are protected from COVID 19.   
      
   Future studies will have to explore how metformin might confer these   
   protective effects, provide a careful risk benefit assessment and determine   
   whether the indications for metformin treatment should be   
   broadened in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
