    I can only guess that most people who used to post on newsgroups got   
   > tired of newsgroups and wanted a change and they went to Facebook or Twitter   
   > and like it there. Each to his own I guess.

    In my case, and it's possibly the same for others, my ISP dropped newsgroups   
   a few years ago and I wasn't fond of Google Groups.
