From: SL7COYes@mail.com              LEVITICUS              Vayikra – 18:22 You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a woman. The Torah makes it clear that homosexuality is an abomination. Any adult       who committed this sin intentionally and with full knowledge of what he was       doing was stoned to death. If he had no prior warning, the consequence was       excision; if this sin was committed mistakenly, a sin offering had to be       brought.              COMMENTATORS              Ibn Ezra: Homosexual relationships are forbidden because they are a       perversion of nature and an act of disobedience to the will of G-d. In sex       relationships, G-d intended man to be a giver, and the women receiver. He       then cites the following statements by other authorities relating to this       prohibition: (1) a man must not have sexual relations with a man who has       changed his sex and become a woman; (2) a man must not have sexual relations       with a hermaphrodite. (Ibn Ezra holds that sexual relations between persons       of the same sex, or between humans and animals, are forbidden because they       cannot produce offspring. These sexual relations therefore represent       “spilling ones seed in vain.”)              Namanides: Homosexual relations are forbidden because they are repulsive and       because the cannot result in offspring.              References:              Nedarim 51a; B. Sanhedrin 54a, 54b, 55a, 60a; B. Yevamot 83b; B. Any attempt to conceal these       differences amounts to a virtual defiance or denial of G-d’s purpose.       A man is forbidden to dress in a woman’s garb. He is restrained from       shaving his face when it is done for the purpose of appearing feminine, or       to bedeck himself with jewelry worn by women.       A woman, too should not dress herself in men’s clothing or in military       armor, or employ any other means of appearing mascline.       The Rabbis included in this injunction the prohabition of a man pulling out       grey hairs from his head in order to appear more youthful. Even if a man       dyes his hair so as to retain his youthful apperance, he is violating this       law. In all instances, such a violation calls for a penalty of lashes.              COMMENTATORS              Nahmanides, Rashbam: A woman who dresses in armor like a man going into       battle will be led into a life of lewdness. A man who dresses like a woman       employs this ruse in order to be able to mix freely with women in order to       seduce them. This same principle also applies to a woman who dresses in a       man’s clothing.              Abrabanel: The wearing of a woman’s clothes by a man or a man’s clothes by       a       woman will lead to homosexuality.              Hinnukh: Anything that symbolizes lewdness, such as a man dressing as a       woman and a woman dressing as a man, falls under the general category of       sexual immorality and is forbidden.              Radbaz: In the sociological relationship between husband and wife, it was       intended both by nature and temperamant that the wife shoud be somewhat       subservient to the husband. If this is so, it is understandable why a man       should not dress like a women, because this would indicate a degradation.       But why should a woman dressing like a man be condemned? Is she not       attempting to upgrade herself? He answers that when two souls are lowered       upon the earth, one of a woman and the other of a man, G-d intended them to       remain distinctive in their phyiscal make-up and external appearance. Any       change in this pattern would be counteracting G-d’s design and is therefore       forbidden, irrespective of whether it is upgrading or downgrading.              References:              B.
