Just pretty much everything really. I hardly recognise the place as the
   country I grew up in.
Just so much hate now. And superficiality. And yes - the one saving grace was
that my UK passport which I kept valid gave me access to about 18 countries in
Europe for as long as I wanted anytime I wanted. Now my Kiwi passport will be
   more useful if they
actually go through with this blend of farce and economic suicide.
It's such a shame. The UK in the sixties - and even seventies - was still one
of the best places to live in the world. Alive and optimistic. Now it just
seems sad and litter strewn and hopeless.
Fucking food banks for fuck's sake! In Britain in 2018! Where is the outrage?

New Zealand has it's own set of problems but it's a paradise compared to parts
of the UK. I had planned to move back to Scotland if we got independence - and
what do we get - Brexshit.
I still visit - and wonder at the soft light - but I can't see any reason to
   return now.
On the bright side I'm doing great down here. Got my own property renovation
business with a good team of six guys and a woman working for me. Took me a
couple of years to build it up from nothing again. We had spent all our
   savings on travel and even
maxed out the cards when we came back here. The area also has the highest
unemployment rate etc in the country so it wasn't easy to begin with. But as
you might recall, I've made and spent several fortunes in my life so making
   another one just becomes
   second nature.

Hope you and any of the old gang who might stumble on this post are doing well.
I don't use Facebook - not my style either. I won't use any medium that is
censored so I'm kind of limited now.

   All the best.
