Possibly :-) I had to provide my father's death cert to FMP to get his
record released on the 1939 register and he died in 1969.
The updating of the register while it was in the hands of the NHS seems
to have had the usual amount of glitches that any handwritten record
   set is bound to have.
FMP and Ancestry won't be able to match a GRO death index entry prior
to Q2 1969 to an exact birth date for anyone whose record hadn't
already been updated to show thy had died and you have to bear in mind
that the birth date (either on the 1939 register or a death
registration) is often only correct to 'the best knowledge' of the
   person giving the info.
