   Not necessarily a Chrome/Edge difference: I think these things work at   
   random (or something else, like maybe counting your visits) - i. e. you   
   may get the other behaviour from the other browser another time. I use   
   mostly Chrome where I see captchas (my old preferred Firefox just can't   
   handle most of them at all), and I've seen both the just-tick and the   
   select-pictures. [Mind you, the pictures are always of US scenes -   
   roadsigns especially; it's be nice to see the odd UK or EU one (-:!]
