|    M.B.E. awarded 1920    |

From: tickettyboo@mail2oops.com              I have the list from the Gazette, I have a couple of lists from newspapers.       They tell me that in 1920 John Percy Henderson was awarded the M.B.E.       for "patriotic services at Lerwick, Shetland', his obit in the Shetland       newspapers in 1938 says he was awarded the M.B.E. for local services.              I know he was a member of the Shetland County Council for many years,       he was also, later, a member of the Parish Council for Burra Isle       (which he purchased in 1921)              Does anyone know if its possible to get details of what the 'patriotic       services' actually were? (nothing in local newspapers that I have been       able to find).        I'd guess this award would be related to his work for various       councils, but if I can get more detail that would be interesting.               --       Tickettyboo              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
