(You can't even be sure it happened only in the quarter       or the previous one; it could be even earlier, but the family pretended       it was then to avoid late registration charges, or for many other reasons.)              But at least we know when it was _registered_. But unfortunately, some       softwares - and websites - don't have "quarter" as a unit they       recognise, and some people also choose to record a quarter by one of the       three months it contains (and I have found all three months used.) Once       this has passed through a process or several, the fact that it _isn't_       known to the month (as well as, often, the fact that it's the date of       registration, not of the event) rapidly gets lost, giving a false sense       of precision.              --       J.
