   (I used to live in Cooperstown, about 20 miles from Oneonta.) Oneonta is a   
   really small town. The weather can be brutal. (Of course, if she's into   
   skiing, it's great.) There is nothing much in the way of interesting   
   shopping in the area. Or theater or...oh, hell, there's not much to do   
   unless you are into outdoor activities. The differences between NYC and   
   Oneonta are so huge that I can't believe your sister is having difficulty   
   deciding. Surely she must have some idea whether she prefers a bustling   
   metropolis or a small town.
