BTD: Unfamiliar with the programs BUT CoFarb is giving Oneonta a bad rap.
Oneonta might be small but it's culturally diverse and clean. Albany isn't
that far away, where you can get passenger service back and forth to NYC.
Also there's some sort of Plaza in the Albany Capitol District where live
bands perform, that's kind of interesting but again Albany is predominated
by government stuff but there are museums and things happening there.
NYC is undoubtedly a great place to visit and if you're rich a great
place to live; otherwise, it's very expensive to live there even if you live
in a dump; otherwise you don't really live in NYC you live in some place
that isn't that much different than Oneonta except there's probably a lot
more poor people and crime and it's closer to NYC. A lot of people live in
such places and say they live in NYC.
As far as I know Oneonta is known for it's nursing college. Many years
ago friends of friends opened a bar in Oneonta and people used to go there
to party from Binghamton, so it can't be that bad. I used to stop there
going back and forth to the 3rd Dept Appellate Division (Justice Bldg.,
   State Street in Albany)
Lake Placid is also nice in summer (North of Albany). Overall that area
especially the Adirondacks is nice if you have a nice car to tour in like
the Finger Lakes Watkins Glen area to the West.
