|    THE REAL DEADLY THREAT TO DEMOCRACY AND     |
|    05 Sep 05 22:52:43    |
XPost: soc.culture.usa, soc.culture.canada, soc.culture.europe       XPost: alt.politics, alt.politics.bush, alt.college.us       XPost: misc.education, alt.education.university       From: rubenstein@bean.nasa.gov              The strength and survival of a democracy depend on control of       centralized power. Too much centralization of power would threaten the       freedom of individuals.              What we have today in the very fiber of the society is a complex grid of       corporate structure that has pierce through virtually all aspect of       individual’s rights and freedom. The dynamics of social change has been       flowing in the direction of centralization of power. And the power is       clearly in the hand of corporate American. Individual liberty and       freedom have been diminishing as the will and the means to fight against       the domination of corporate America are weakening by sophisticated and       manipulative tactics deployed by the major corporations of America.              Dwight Eisenhower cautioned us about the "acquisition of unwarranted       influence, whether sought or unsought, by the Military Industrial       Complex". And this complex was identified as a serious threat to the       true liberty and democratic processes. What we have seen today in the       Bush administration is a new level of ‘hi-tech’ corruption. Between the       weapon industry and oil-gas industry such as Lockheed-Martin and       Halliburton, the nation’s foundation of democracy has been seriously       eroded and weakened. With the effective (so far) assistance from a team       member, Fox News, corporate American have been successful in       conditioning and numbing most of the American public to accept the "way       it is" while the corporations enjoy the exploitation and robbing of the       national resources as well as becoming what resembles the classical       dictatorship, only in a much more sophisticated form. Employees are       becoming less of an individual with fundamental human dignity, but more       like robots and instrument to serve their masters in corporate America.       Nothing is really new here. However, with the Bush administration in       high office, the loss of human compassion and the gain of corporate       power as well as corporate corruption, e.g, Enron, have deepened at an       unprecedented rate. Bush is obviously a DUI. He’s been running the       country under intense influence of corporate America, especially the       petroleum and weapons cartels. All done at a huge and possibly       irrecoverable loss to the nation’s welfare and security, let alone       democracy and liberty. The ironic thing here is it is the very same       group of people who boast democracy, freedom, and liberty are the one       that are doing their best to kill these values.              So, why does it work so well? Why are the evil corporate America so       successful in raping, torturing, manipulating, and killing democracy and       liberty in America?              The answer is right in front of you. Just look around. First, he       majority of the Americans have been conditioned to desire a "better       materialistic life" without understanding of the long term cost and       destruction may cause by their bottomless desire for materialism.       Second, education in the US, especially in the past few decades, has       been designed to train the students to "just do it" while ignoring       emphasis on logic and critical thinking. Furthermore, the current       education system tends to discourage the students' attentions to key       issues that would potentially reinforce and strengthen the foundation of       democracy. With university administrators mostly driven by money,       regardless of its origin, education institutions have become nothing       more than a dot com under the skin of dot edu, only with much less       honesty and more sophisticated deception. This kind of environment       breeds the kind of workforce we have today: soulless human with value       weighted by machine-equivalent scale.              Democracy in American is in ‘critical condition’ if not already ‘dead’.       And a few more years of Bush, it may be all over for the habitats of a       country once known as a champion of democracy and liberty.              So the real enemy of democracy and freedom and liberty isn’t the so       called terrorists as Bush and his neo-con conspirators have been       pounding on the Americans and the people of the world. It’s the greedy       and evil corporate America that is the clear and present danger and a       deadly threat to national security, the survival of an experimental       democracy, and the livelihood of a healthy and peaceful society.              You have been warned.                                   ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==----       http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! >100,000       Newsgroups       ---= East/West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
