   The Greeks had hundreds of similar example of "hubris". Anybody trying   
   to reach high gets knocked down, like Otus and Ephialtes who piled mount   
   Pelion on Ossa to try and get to Olympus.   
   I find all that strangely at odds with all the great successes that the   
   Greeks produced; Aristotle, Archimedes, Euclid, etc.; all great rational   
   and scientific minds, as great as Einstein, Bohr or Faraday in their day.
