From: noahidebooksforever@gmail.com              Noahide Information - Ireland.       Ireland is a land made up of two nations – the Republic of Ireland and       Northern Ireland, which is a nation of the United Kingdom. The Irish people       speak English for the most part in the 21st century of the modern era, but old       Irish is still spoken in        places as well. The Irish band 'The Corrs' have a popular worldwide seller in       their album 'Home' which features traditional Irish songs in the Irish       language. The Irish people are rooted in celtic culture as well as Christian       religion. St Patrick is the        traditional source for establishing christianity in Ireland, and legend tells       that he drove all the snakes out of Ireland. Today Catholicism is the main       religion in the Republic of Ireland, but in Northern Ireland protestant       Christianity is particularly        strong. Throughout the 20th century there was much conflict between the Irish       Repblican Army (The IRA) and the British over Irish sovereignty. The IRA were       responsbile for terrorist acts in attempting to boot the British out of       Northern Ireland and        reunite Ireland to the way it had functioned for centuries before the British       moved in. This, by and large, has failed, with Northern Ireland remaining in       the Union. The Cranberries, an Irish band, released an album called 'No Need       to Argue' back in the        1990s (which has a magnficent picture of the band sitting on a couch in a       field with a Rainbow overhead) which featured the song Zombie, which was a       very popular hit worldwide condemning the hostilities between the warring       parties. The capital of the        Republic of Ireland is Dublin and the capital of Northern Ireland is Belfast.       The republic of Ireland is part of the European Union, and uses the Euro as       its currency. It has a population, as of 2016 of 4.7 million people. Northern       Ireland, being part of        the United Kingdom, left the European Union recently with Brexit. It utilizes       the pound as its currency, and has a population, as of 2011 of 1.8 million.       Ireland is famous for its music, celtic melody, which has a very distinct       sound to it, with merry        jigs and reels; its dancing, and shows like Riverdance have gone on to be       worldwide phenomenons; and its sarcasm. Like the Scots, Welsh and English,       there is an Irish sarcasm, which can indeed come thick and fast at times.       Famous Irish authors include        Oscar Wilde, James Joyce, W.B. Yeats, George Bernard Shaw, and Bram Stoker,       famous for writing 'Dracula'. Modern Ireland, as of 2017, is quite a       prosperous country in current times, and after a lull in economic activity in       former years is doing quiet        well again. Famous Irish bands and artists include U2, the Corrs, Boyzone,       Ronan Keating, The Cranberries, the movie band 'The Commitments', Snow Patrol,       My Bloody Valentine, Westlife, The Irish Rovers and the Boomtown Rats.       http://noahidebooks.angelfire.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
