   Nebuchadnezzar had, for example, besieged Jerusalem before Babylonian exile.   
   Zedekiah the king of Israel did not repent for sins, transgression and crimes   
   in Jerusalem,   
   but he persecuted prophet Jeremiah instead.   
      
   Senacherib of Assyria had also besieged Jerusalem, but the righteous king   
   Hezekiah   
   and the common people repented of their sins, so a deliverer was sent to them.

   Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret,   
   but worldly sorrow brings death.
