From: andronicus451@gmail.com              Romans 12       19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto       wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.       20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him       drink: ... 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.              * * *              Often the nature of fallen man feels the need for revenge. Western and       modern culture even praises revenge and unforgiveness and payback.       However, God seems to obey the law of double jeopardy: if avenge       ourselves, He is frustrated to punish that evil. Or the evildoer might       even go unpunished to some form of afterlife, Heaven or Paradise.              While punishment is necessary, if we are emotionally involved       we may suffer loss of objectivity and lose sound judgment,       and exceed the measure.              Since the cross of Calvary (Golgotha), God Creator wants everyone       reconciled to Him.              As it is written by prophet Jeremiah:              Lamentations 3       31 For the Lord will not cast off for ever:       32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according       to the multitude of his mercies.       33 For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.              And Jesus himself said:              John 3:16       For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,       that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.              Apostle Paul confirms:              1 Timothy 2:5       5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,       the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all,       to be testified in due time.              in the name of the LORD Merciful, Longsuffering       Amen              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
