From: jtem01@gmail.com              So he was spewing some anti American bullshit,       trying to "Fight" some battle other people won       a lifetime or more ago, and I compared America's       history to Turkey's.              Look. Turkey is a human rights nightmare. The       Turks made the conscious decision that they       would only have one language, one religion, one       people living in Anatolia, regardless of how       much greater everyone else's claim to the land       was, and it undertook one of the most successful       ethnic cleansings the planet had ever known.              I mean, if the Armenian genocide is too much for       you to rap your heads around, go ask the Greeks       about Turkish history. Some 24 centuries ago       Alexander the Great crossed in Anatolia and liberated       Greek cities from the Persian empire. Well, where       are all those Greeks today?              No, they didn't all vanish 23 centuries ago. They       were driven out (or under) by the Turks!              For crying out loud, the Assyrians have been there       FOREVER, and even they were persecuted! Every       non-turkish identified group was persecuted. Period.              Turkey has never atoned for any of this. Turkey       won't even admit it! They succeed where the Nazis       failed and they won't even acknowledge that it       happened. Like Yusuf/Giwer, it is an outrage to so       much as acknowledge reality!              Yes, the United States isn't perfect but we are       so much better than Turkey that it's senseless       even comparing to two. It's like asking, "Which is       worse, having your foot tickled or being bludgeoned       to death with a piece of cold iron?"                                          -- --              http://jtem.tumblr.com/post/176920114313              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
