The first objection one hears about the current climate change is that such       cycles have always existed.              True enough, but the question at hand is if the current cycle has been       influenced by human activity. The current uptick of the natural cycle and       human intense agriculture are roughly at the same time.              So the idea that this cycle is different can be tested.              'Climate change: How do we know?'              https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/              Our poster suggested it had to do with the formation of the Isthmus of       panama a few million years ago on recent climate cycles.              Ice captures markers of climate change as it happens so we can test if the       current cycle is different .              The article says there has been in the last 650k years 7 such cycles, the       last starting to increase some 6000k years ago along with human activity       in the markers of reasons for faster change.              So our poster's notion is refuted that it alone is responsible for the       current cycle. and its evidence for the amount of warming.              Read the above NaSA article to see what we know and why.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
