-> Anyone still running SPITFIRE? MM> $85 for a copy is a bit high to get new blood into the software. What? There were actually SysOps running Spitfire without the "Caution: Unauthorized Copy" messages showing for years? ;-) I recently found a backup of my old board from the summer of 1994. Though I don't think it qualifies as "still running SPITFIRE," a version of v3.4 *has* been going in a DosBox window as I've been going through it. I'm ashamed to say that the reason I even have this backup is because it was right before I switched to Wildcat! :-( There were just so many things I was hoping Spitfire would support in the future that were obviously never going to happen that I went with Wildcat! based on its promises for 4.0 over Mike's promises for 3.5. Though I never had any complaints with WC4, and in fact *loved* running it, I *always* felt bad about abandoning the SF crowd. But, I guess you can only go so long without a Full-Screen Editor. ;-) Joshua * SPITFIRE v3.6 HomeWard Bound TELNET homeward.no-ip.com --- Alexi/Mail 2.03a (#189) * Origin: HomeWard Bound Brampton ON telnet homeward.no-ip.com (1:250/308) |
