-> Anyone still running SPITFIRE? MM> $85 for a copy is a bit high to get new blood into the software. What? There were actually SysOps running Spitfire without the "Caution: Unauthorized Copy" messages showing for years? ;-) I recently found a backup of my old board from the summer of 1994. Though I don't think it qualifies as "still running SPITFIRE," a version of v3.4 *has* been going in a DosBox window as I've been going through it. I'm ashamed to say that the reason I even have this backup is because it was right before I switched to Wildcat! :-( There were just so many things I was hoping Spitfire would support in the future that were obviously never going to happen that I went with Wildcat! based on its promises for 4.0 over Mike's promises for 3.5. Though I never had any complaints with WC4, and in fact *loved* running it, I *always* felt bad about abandoning the SF crowd. But, I guess you can only go so long without a Full-Screen Editor. ;-) Joshua * SPITFIRE v3.6 HomeWard Bound TELNET homeward.no-ip.com --- Alexi/Mail 2.03a (#189) * Origin: HomeWard Bound Brampton ON telnet homeward.no-ip.com (1:250/308) SEEN-BY: 1/123 15/0 90/1 105/7 10 11 44 81 85 500 106/201 120/340 SEEN-BY: 123/131 129/305 153/7715 218/700 226/30 227/114 229/110 111 SEEN-BY: 229/112 113 114 206 307 317 424 426 428 470 550 664 700 266/512 SEEN-BY: 282/1038 317/3 320/219 322/757 342/200 396/45 460/58 633/280 SEEN-BY: 712/848 PATH: 105/81 229/426 |
